Common questions
The term of the contract is always as long as the prepaid time you booked.
To extend your virtual server, upload your host-Unlimited.de account and extend it with the credit of your server by clicking with us in the customer area for a duration specified by you. You can repeat this unlimitedly often. Alternatively, you can also activate an automatic extension that automatically extends your server for a duration specified by you, as long as there is enough credit on your customer account.
To cancel your vServer, it is sufficient if you leave the deposit of additional credits on your account and do not order an extension. As our servers are billed in the prepaid procedure, they will not be blocked and stopped for 14 days and then deleted. There are no payment obligations or notices with us. It is also not necessary to terminate in writing.
Depending on the operating system selected, you can connect to all currently technically possible protocols. Among other things, SSH or RDP (Remote Desktop). You can also use tools like Anydesk or Teamviewer. Our KVM based vServer can even be controlled via VNC console directly via the customer area.
How to get Host-Unlimited.de You can permanently provide the vServer at the offered price, the rental must be profitable for us. Since data volume is not free for us, it is therefore important that traffic consumption is related to the paid price. With our Fair-Use Trafficflatrate, all generated traffic is included free of charge in the rental price of the vServer. Most customers will never reach your limits on regular use. The rule is that most customers consume between 300 and 500 GB per month. Customers with increased demand consume 1-5 TB/month. These consumptions are covered by the Fair Use Trafficflatrate.
If you generate significantly increased traffic consumption over a longer period of at least 2 months (more than the average of all host-Unlimited.de customers), Host-Unlimited.de You ask to reduce the consumption of the data volume because there is no legitimate cause (e.g. DOS attacks) for consumption that you will be able to dispose. If there is indeed a legitimate cause for massive consumption, we can complete special traffic communications with us.
Yes! Both our LXC and our KVM vServer support Docker. However, please remember that the functions are restricted with an LXC vServer, as LXC is also a container virtualization and your LXC container uses the kernel of the hypervisor, which means that certain kernel functions cannot be adapted or can only be used to a limited extent. Our KVM vServer offer unrestricted Docker support.
